Yum, veggie burgers! There are so many types out there, so I started this Veggie Burger of the Month series to celebrate the wide world of these meat-free beauties.
My pick for September 2015 is the California Veggie Burger from Dr. Praeger’s. You can find these frozen patties in most grocery stores. I get them from Whole Foods Market.
These burgers are certified non-GMO by the non-GMO Project and contain all-natural ingredients. Here is a full list of what goes into a Dr. Praeger’s California Veggie Burger:
Carrots, onions, string beans, oat bran, soybeans, zucchini, peas, broccoli, corn, soy flour, spinach, expeller pressed canola oil, red peppers, arrowroot, corn starch, garlic, corn meal, salt, parsley, black pepper .
I like to eat mine with guacamole, kale and tomato on an organic sprouted grain bun!
You can also get them in slider form at White Castle — yes, the fast food restaurant now serves a veggie burger and the patty is the Dr. Praeger’s California Burger! I haven’t tried it yet. If you have, let me know what you thought down below in the comments!
Dr. Praeger’s makes several veggie burger flavors aside from California. A few of them are Kale, Super Greens, Thai, Bombay Curry, TexMex and Italian. I’ve tried the TexMex and thought it was pretty good, but the California is much better.
