Cookbook Spotlight – Everyday Vegetarian: 365 Days of Healthy Seasonal Recipes by Jane Hughes

Cookbook Spotlight – Everyday Vegetarian 365 Days of Healthy Seasonal Recipes

Now that it’s a new year, I’m starting a new series on this blog that highlights vegan and vegetarian cookbooks. There are dozens and dozens of great cookbooks out there to teach you how to prepare food that is free of meat and dairy.

My first Cookbook Spotlight features Everyday Vegetarian: 365 Days of Healthy Seasonal Recipes by Jane Hughes

About the Book

Everyday Vegetarian provides you with an entire year’s worth of tasty and healthy recipes. Divided by season, the recipes and suggestions within each chapter are focused on using fresh seasonal produce.

My Overall Impression

This is a great staple for those who want to eat plant-based but might not want to go entirely vegan. Everyday Vegetarian contains several recipes that call for milk, cheese or eggs, but there are 100% vegan recipes in the book, as well.

What Sets This Book Apart

The author breaks up the recipes by seasons and begins each new section by listing seasonal produce with photos. This is nice to help you quickly select recipes that use what’s in season, as well as teaches new cooks which veggies are freshest during different seasons.
