I’ve been writing mostly about food on this blog, but now it’s time for my first drink review! The subject is Moonlit Matcha Organic Japanese Green Tea, a high-quality product from a UK-based company called Hybrid Herbs. Their commitment to providing healthful products is inspiring. As their website states, they are “delighted to bring you Highest Quality, All Natural, Medicinal Mushrooms, Tonic Herbs And Superfoods YOU CAN TRUST.” The company is also committed to selling products that are 100% vegan and cruelty-free.
When I first opened the package of the Hybrid Herbs matcha powder, I was happy to see that promised bright green color and to smell a refreshing, clean matcha scent – both good signs that signal freshness and high quality. It tastes great, too! Though I’ve only drank it as tea so far, I am searching through recipes so I can make something cool with it, like muffins or cupcakes. I think this powder would taste great in a baked good!
Matcha green tea powder is made from stone-ground, whole green tea leaves. This finely-ground powder contains numerous vitamins and minerals like vitamin C, zinc, selenium, chromium, magnesium, and fiber. It’s also high in chlorophyll, which is evident by its intense green color.
I love green tea for its high antioxidants that help promote general well-being. For hundreds of years, people have used this superfood to increase energy levels and endurance, improve concentration and memory, boost metabolism, cleanse the body and promote calmness and serenity. Many also use green tea to optimize energy and concentration while maintaining a centered feeling of calm and serenity.
