Fermented foods are so healthy for us. Pickled cabbage, fermented juices and more strengthen your digestive and immune systems, as well as help support and build the natural ecosystem in your gut.
The delicious, fermented products from BAO are packed full of organic ingredients and vibrant probiotic bacteria. All BAO products are vegan.
BAO (which stands for Bad Ass Organics) creates fermented vegetables, sauces and drinks using the 7000 year old method of fermentation providing tasty and probiotic rich products. The process of fermentation harnesses the best nature has to offer, using salt and naturally forming fermented acids to encourage the growth of beneficial micro organisms (probiotics).
Personally, I love the taste of tart, tangy fermented foods and have always been a fan of pickles since I was a little girl. I also love to eat garlicky, picked peppers, carrots and onions with Mexican food.
Trying to BAO products opened my eyes that fermentation can include way more than just pickles for my burgers and veggies for my burritos. BAO offers a wide array of products like cultured kombucha, cultured hot sauce, cultured vegetables, and fermented ketchup.
One of my favorite products was the Tangy Raw Slaw, which is made from organic cabbage, organic daikon radish, organic carrots, organic green onions, organic apples, organic pears, organic garlic, organic ginger, sea salt. BAO Raw Slaw is available in 7 flavors – Giardiniera, Green Slaw, Spicy Slaw, Tangy Slaw, Red Beets, Pickles, Sour Pickle Relish or a mixed case.
Another one of my favorites was the Mango Cultured Hot Sauce. It’s delicious when paired with a mild curry stew, like the one I often order from vegetarian restaurant Shangri-La in Brooklyn.
The Cultured Liquid Pickle Boosts were very interesting. They are strong, so beware! These are like an immunity shot in a glass.
Overall, these products are awesome, with a fresh and flavorful taste that nicely compliments salads and sandwiches.
