Before I became a plant-based eater, I loved Nacho Cheese Doritos. However, their ingredient list isn’t so lovable. Now, we have Beanfields Bean & Rice Chips in Nacho flavor, a healthier alternative to the classic Doritos snack. Instead of corn, Beanfields uses black beans, navy beans, and long grain rice.

Protein powders are wonderful for boosting your protein intake, especially if you eat a plant-based diet. I’ve tried many protein powders and use them every week for smoothies, so I was happy to recently sample the new Sunwarrior Classic Plus Organic, Raw, Plant-Based Protein in both Chocolate and Vanilla flavors.

It has been 13 days since starting this vegan challenge. In addition to cutting out meat and dairy, I have also cut out all refined sugars and soda, and I rarely eat gluten! Here’s a recap of what I’ve eaten and how I did this challenge last week.


A few months ago, I wrote a post about how much I loved my Vegan Cuts Snack Box subscription. I have been a subscriber for more than a year, and along the way, I have discovered new favorite snacks that make it easy to maintain a plant-based diet. Now, since I recently became a Brand Ambassador for Vegan Cuts, I thought I’d share what’s inside my monthly boxes.
For a while, it seemed like every single protein bar out there was made with soy protein isolate, which was frustrating as a plant-based eater. Since I eat edamame, tofu and tempeh every week, I like to limit my soy-based protein bar consumption since too much soy isn’t good for our bodies. Thankfully, Squarebar uses brown rice protein for a different way to fuel up!

Forget protein shakes – one serving of ProTings crisps packs a whopping 15 grams of protein. I’ve never expected so much power from chips before. Pretty neat!
