Summer is almost here, and those hot days are always made a bit better with some ice cream. While vegan and dairy-free ice cream is becoming more widely available in both ice cream shops and in grocery stores, it’s much more fun to make your own.
The Best Homemade Vegan Cheese and Ice Cream Recipes by Marie Laforet focuses on this summer treat, as well as cheese, which can totally be dairy-free and delicious. If you don’t believe it, check out the recipes in this book.
Cheese and ice cream are two creamy, delicious dairy dishes that are major staples of the American diet. I understand they can be hard to give up, since they are often associated with loved ones and happy moments, but there’s a trick — don’t deprive yourself. Instead, find alternatives and create your own new favorite dishes like the ones in this book!

MY OVERALL IMPRESSION
This book is a godsend for vegans who remember the taste of cheese and ice cream and want to learn how to make their own without animal products. It’s also nice for the nonbelievers who don’t think vegan cheese and ice cream can be delicious. I admit that I’m not a fan of vegan packaged dairy substitutes, but homemade is a different story. These recipes are great, and as a bonus, they’re also easy to follow.
