Subscription box services are so hot right now, so when I received a free box promo for Graze, I decided if my first box is free, it couldn’t hurt to try it. Well, I ended up loving it and became a subscriber!
Here are eight reasons why I like Graze for easy, plant-based snacking.
1. You Choose The Snacks You Want and Easily Avoid Products With Animal Ingredients
Once you create your account on the Graze website, you can choose the snacks you do and don’t want delivered by changing your dietary preferences. For example, you can specify if you don’t like spicy food or don’t want products that contain nuts, gluten, or milk. If you’re vegan, you can check a “trash” button under the list of snacks that are “unsuitable for vegans.” If you’re 99% vegan, you can override your blanket trashing and tell the site that yes, you do want that one snack that sounds tasty with the yogurt pieces, after all. After you choose your preferences, you can just sit back, relax and know you’re only getting goodies that are suitable for your diet.
2. Each Snack is Nutritionist-Approved
Graze has a nutritionist who approves each snack with at least one badge, like having protein, vitamins, whole oats, fruit, minerals, etc. Remember: the USDA defines 1/2 cup of dried fruit as one serving of fruit, so you can Graze your way to your recommended daily amount.
3. You Can Munch Hard or Choose to Graze Lightly
You can choose the nibble box, which has a full selection of the Graze snacks, or the calorie counter box, which includes only snacks that are between 50 – 150 calories. I go for the nibble box.
4. Rate as You Eat
Each week, graze will send you an email and you can rate if you like or don’t like the snacks you received. You can click “trash,” “like,” “love,” or “try” for any snack at any time.
5. The Flavors & Snacks are Unique
Graze has snack mixes I can’t find in stores. Chili lime pistachios. Tomato and basil pizza mix. Sour cream and onion cashews. Those mixes are a nice treat to complement my usual, more boring (but still loved and much needed) nut and snack mixes that I make at home like plain almonds with cashews, or dried edamame with sunflower seeds.
6. The Snacks Are Totally Portable
Since each snack comes in its own container within the box, they’re great options to throw in your purse when you’re on-the-go. They’re already portioned out for you, almost begging to be a travel snack food.
7. It’s Fun!
Once my boyfriend saw the snacks I was getting with Graze, he ended up subscribing, too. We always enjoy opening our boxes, wondering what we’ll get, then looking at each other’s selection and making trades. It’s fun!
8. Try Your First Graze Box for Free
If you’re not sure if you want to receive the box each week, you can sign up for an account and try your first box for free. If you don’t like it, just cancel the subscription. But maybe you’ll be pleasantly surprised like me and end up finding a new food option that works for an on-the-go, busy lifestyle! Mostly Thumbs Up, But With one Tiny Con…
Overall, I give Graze a thumbs up, but one negative point I have is that the price is too expensive for the amount. I had to cut back on my deliveries recently in favor of cheaper snacking. I admit that I like the convenience factor of having four snacks individually portioned for me so that I can throw them in my purse when I travel. However, one could definitely make their own, similar snack mixes and save a lot of money. Graze is worth it mostly if you travel; but if you’re snacking at home right out of the box, it’s hard to justify why you spent that money on little portions instead of a bulk bag of trail mix from the grocery store. Graze is best used for an on-the-go lifestyle, not for snacking on the couch.
