A couple years ago when I moved to NYC, I was surprised to find many vegan options at Costco in Brooklyn. There are even several organic and/or non-GMO products, as well.
Here are just some of the vegan items I noticed at the Costco location in Brooklyn, NY. I picked up most of these, and the kitchen is now well-stocked for vegan eating!
For the Freezer
Madame Edamame
A big bag of non-GMO soybeans makes for a very, very happy vegan.
Himalya Fresh Frozen Mini Samosas
The box contains 100 of these spiced potato and pea pockets. To cook, just pop them in the oven for about 10 minutes. They’re a perfect snack food.
Organic Frozen Mixed Berries
I love this mix of cherries, strawberries, cranberries, blueberries, and raspberries. We use it for smoothies.
For the Pantry
Canned Beans
I found a pack of six cans of chickpeas for less than $5 at Costco! Buying six at a time is definitely cheaper than buying individual cans for more than $1 a piece.
Chia Seeds
We’re a smoothie and juicing house, so bulk seeds are always on our radar.
Carrington Farms Organic Flax Hemp Blend
This blend provides fat and complete vegan protein. I love to add a couple tablespoons to my smoothies!
Raw and Salted Nuts
Raw and/or salted cashews and almonds are a great snack, and Costco has both! I noticed they also carry dried chickpeas and hazelnuts, along with lots of other nut and trail mixes.
Dried Mango
Eating a couple pieces of dried mango is a great way to satisfy that sweet tooth without reaching for dessert.
Mary’s Gone Crackers
This is a gluten-free brand of crackers and I love them most with hummus. Costco sells Mary’s Gone Crackers Original Crackers.
Late July Sub Lime Tortilla Chips
Late July is verified by the Non-GMO Project. And they’re lime flavor? Yes. My hummus and guacamole are gonna have a party ASAP.
Amy’s Soups
Amy’s Kitchen is one of my favorite brands and I was stoked to see a bulk package of canned soups.
For The Counter
Whole Grain Bread
The bakery area of Costco smells so heavenly. Not everything is free of animal products, but I was able to find a vegan whole grain bread.
Fresh Fruit
Costco has bulk fresh fruit which is perfect if you make a lot of smoothies. We bought a bag of about 10 grapefruit to make fresh juice!
For the Fridge
Tabouli Salad
Along with all the dried goods for the pantry, we got some tabouli salad. It’s always nice to have a cold salad ready in the fridge for snacking.
Hannah Organic Hummus
Costco sells a couple different brands of this beloved chickpea dip. The Hannah brand is organic and tastes delicious, hoorah!
Edamame Spread
I didn’t purchase this one, but it’s on my to-try list!
Bunny Love Organic Carrots
We found a huge bag of Bunny Love organic carrots for juicing and snacking. VItamin A for DAYSSSS!!!
Vegan food can get expensive, but I’ve learned that buying in bulk can help lower my food cost overall. I’m pretty pleased with Costco’s vegan offerings.
Have you spotted any other vegan food at Costco? I’d love if you can share in the comments 🙂
