Annie’s Homegrown now offers Organic Vegan Shells & Creamy Sauce, as well as Organic Gluten Free Vegan Elbows & Creamy Sauce! They are similar to other boxed mac n’ cheese products that sit on the shelf, and they’re perfect for young people, college students, busy families, and anyone who wants an easy-to-make meal.
Back in college, I loved Annie’s Shells & White Cheddar Mac n’ Cheese. It was easy to make in my dorm room kitchen. Plus, the all-natural cheese didn’t contain animal enzymes and the product was organic. Since I was a strict vegetarian at the time, this product was my go-to for several years. Then, I decided to go vegan and opted for mac from brands like Earth Balance or Amy’s Kitchen. Now, I might just switch back to my old favorite, considering Annie’s Homegrown is getting back into the vegan game with their new vegan mac n’ cheese!
The regular version contains wheat pasta, while the gluten-free version is made with rice pasta. Annie’s take on a creamy sauce is pretty unique for boxed mac’ n cheese, since it features sweet potato and pumpkin. Yum! This new Annie’s products sounds delicious! I always prefer vegan mac n’ cheese dishes that use vegetables like pumpkin or nuts like cashews to make the sauce, rather than flat out mimicking dairy cheese with yeast and other ingredients.
The mac contains no artificial flavors, synthetic colors or preservatives. It’s also free of GMOs and USDA certified organic. Thumbs up to Annie’s for their commitment to sourcing quality ingredients and making food that is good for people and the planet.
I’m looking forward to trying some of this mac, considering it’s one of my favorite comfort foods. Have you tried Annie’s Homegrown take on mac n’ cheese? If you’re interested in buying it, here is their store locator.

I love sweet potato and pumpkin anything, and especially always loved getting a butternut squash stuffed ravioli or tortellini type pasta dish once in a blue moon that I would go out to an Italian restaurant that served it. So has me thinking of fall on this cloudy, late-summer feeling kind of day. I like Annie’s brand, but haven’t had a mac and cheese/vegan or otherwise in ages. Last cheese I had was from Vtopian. I ordered as a treat while visiting my mom and sister. So good, I did a video review. https://youtu.be/MSkV98dhvxkHave you had? OMG, you must try it. The review video is fun, check it out. ~Tracy

Annie’s, what happened to this mac & cheese? I haven’t seen a vegan version of your mac in stores in a long time. We need Amy’s vegan mac n’ cheese on the shelves at Whole Foods!
