I am obsessed with New York City’s favorite vegan food truck, The Cinnamon Snail, so I’m SUPER PUMPED about this news! The Cinnamon Snail has secured a location at The Pennsy, a new 8,000-square-foot food court opening at NYC’s Penn Station on Jan 7, 2016.
According to Time Out New York, The Pennsy will include an indoor dining lounge complete with communal tables and sofas, a fairweather patio space for the warmer months, a bar area with cocktails, wine, and beer and a second floor space for events. The bi-level food court space will be open Monday through Saturday from 11am to 10pm and Sunday from 11am to 8pm.

The Pennsy food court will feature other vendors that serve meat and dairy items, but obviously, The Cinnamon Snail is the REAL star here. The owner has a real talent for making veggie food taste good enough that anyone will enjoy it, not just kale-and-nooch-lovin’ vegans like myself. Vegans aren’t the only ones who flock to The Cinnamon Snail’s plant-based fare; even carnivores enjoy the awesome grub. I have watched many non-vegan friends chow down on sandwiches and donuts from The Cinnamon Snail with glee.
In 2014, The Cinnamon Snail was crowned Best Food Truck in NYC by winning the 10th annual Vendy Cup. They used to park in a different location each day, and every week when they were near my workplace, I stood in a long line to get my Maple Mustard Tempeh sandwich. People clearly loved the food. But despite their tremendous success, The Cinnamon Snail ran into trouble securing parking spots. After having so many permit issues, they ended up discontinuing regular truck service in early 2015, even though they were still around at different events and farmer’s markets.
I can’t wait to get The Cinnamon Snail once again at The Pennsy food court! Have you ever tried the food from The Cinnamon Snail? What is your favorite? I love their Maple Mustard Tempeh sandwich, and I had their special Thanksgiving meal in November 2015.
