Edinburgh Wins U.K.’s Most Vegan Friendly City
PETA has awarded this year’s award for the U.K.’s Most Vegan-Friendly City to Edinburgh, Scotland. According to The Daily Meal, “In Scotland, vegan eating is on the rise, which is reflected in Edinburgh’s increasing array of vegan fare, from traditional haggis served with a cruelty-free twist to salads, veggie burgers, and soups.”
FDA Says Hampton Creek Can Keep Its “Just Mayo” Name
The FDA recently decided that food technology company Hampton Creek can keep the name of its vegan mayo product called “Just Mayo.” According to Fortune, “The decision comes a year after Unilever dropped a lawsuit against Hampton Creek in which it alleged that Just Mayo isn’t really mayonnaise. It also acknowledged in the suit that its Hellmann’s brand was losing share to Just Mayo.” Now, Hampton Creek is free to keep its Just Mayo name.
Plant Power Fast Food Will Open First Location in San Diego, CA in January
Hooray for another vegan fast food option! Plant Power Fast Food is a plant-based drive-up opening in San Diego, CA in January. Latest Vegan News reports says the restaurant will offer an entirely plant-based menu that features burgers, shakes, fries, tacos, wraps, smoothies, salads, and fresh juices.
