As a child, I loved making rice crispy treats with marshmallows, but I had to give them up when I went vegetarian. Marshmallows contain an animal-derived ingredient — gelatin. Not cool. But times have changed and a company called Chicago Vegan Foods now makes Dandies vegan and gelatin-free marshmallows. You can use them to make this Dandies Vegan Classic Crispy Treats.

A company called Fruitful Children has created a Perky Fruit Bodies snack that is similar to fruit roll ups, but with less junk and more health benefits. Choose from Strawberry Banana, Cacao Banana Coconut or Coconut Banana.

A new bread line that is both vegan and allergy-friendly recently hit several stores on the East coast. If you’re not concerned about allergies but just want to eat more plant-based or gluten-free, switching your bread brand is a great way to get started!
